A medium-sized, clump-forming orchid species with narrowly-oval, green leaves up to 30cm long. Flowering stems appear from the centre of the leaf rosette and carry 4 to 8 long-lasting flowers that open in succession. The pouch (or slipper) is a modification of the lip that traps insects and consequently provides an ''escape route'' that results in pollen collection and flower pollination. The lateral sepals are fused, maily hidden behind the pouch. Dorsal sepal is bright, lime-green with dark brown linear markings, The pouch is pink with numerous small dark pink dots. Petals are almost horizontal, yellow-green, dark-brown spotted.
