Decidous climber about 2.4m tall, with mid green leaves and double, pale lavender-mauve flowers that fade to pale blue, 15cm across with creamy-yellow anthers, composed of layers of long tepals, progressively shorter towards the middle, and occasionally a collar of lilac-green tepals, flowering late spring to early summer and again in late summer

How to Grow

Cultivation

Plant in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, with the roots and base of the plant kept cool and shaded by other plants or a layer of pebbles at the base. Plant with the crown 5-8cm deep to encourage new shoots to grow from below ground level. See clematis cultivation
