A slow-growing, upright, deciduous tree to around 8m tall, its older stems and trunk green with white striations. The three-lobed, green leaves are speckled and margined with white in spring and summer before turning shades of red, orange and yellow in the autumn. Clusters of greenish-yellow flowers are borne in spring
