An evergreen perennial forming a mound of lobed, heart-shaped leaves opening dark purple in spring, becoming dark blue-green, with dark purple veining and a silvery sheen, in summer. Spires of tiny, cream, bell-shaped flowers on wiry, upright stems appear from late spring to early summer
