A compact, bushy evergreen shrub to around 60cm high, with broadly lance-shaped, glossy leaves with dark green centres and broad, bright yellow-green margins with irregular mottling of dark green. Leaf margins fade to cream as the leaves mature. Spikes of purple flowers are produced in late summer
