An upright, dense, evergreen shrub typically reaching a height of 1.2m in cultivation. Erect, whip-like shoots are clothed with tiny, grey-green leaves to 1.5mm long that closely clasp the stem. Tiny pale lilac flowers are borne in clusters from early to mid-summer
