A modern, disease-resistant wine grape bred for cooler climates, producing small to medium bunches of dark blue-black grapes. The fruit yields deeply coloured, full-bodied red wines with classic Cabernet-style aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and subtle spice. Vigorous and reliable, it performs well outdoors in the UK when grown in a sunny, sheltered position. Its strong resistance to mildew makes it particularly suitable for organic or low-input cultivation
