Murray's cobra lily
A borderline tender tuberous perennial to 30cm in height, with bright-green leaves composed of five or six leaflets, borne before or with the flower. It has white, hooded spathes, striped emerald green, with violet-purple markings towards the edge of the mouth of the flower. The spadix inside the spathe is a deep violet colour

Arisaema are mostly tuberous perennials usually with palmately lobed leaves, and distinctive tubular, hooded spathes within which the tiny true flowers are clustered at the base of the club-like or filamentous spadix, followed by a spike of red berries

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in moist but well-drained humus-rich soil with plenty of leaf mold. A sheltered site is best in sun or dappled shade. In colder regions will need winter protection or bringing into a cool conservatory or greenhouse, and tubers must not dry out when dormant
Propagation
Propagate by seed, sowing them in containers in a cold frame in autumn or spring. Offsets may be removed in late summer
