A large, hardy, broadly conical deciduous tree, which can reach heights of up to 18m+ in the right conditions, with maple-shaped dark green foliage which turns to brilliant shades of red, orange, purple and yellow in the autumn. The bark is fissured, even on younger specimens. Decorative, burr-like fruits appear in autumn and remain on the tree throughout the winter. Due to its size, this variety is best suited to large gardens and parks or avenue planting
