A fast-growing angel’s trumpet with long, flared flowers opening fiery orange-red with yellow highlights, deepening as they mature. The blooms are strongly fragrant in the evening. Large, soft, mid-green leaves give a lush, tropical look. It typically reaches 2–3?m tall with a broad, spreading habit. A tender perennial shrub, it flowers freely in warm weather and thrives in rich soil, sun, and regular feeding.

How to Grow

Cultivation

Under glass, grow in peat-free, loam-based potting compost in full light. Water freely while in active growth and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2 weeks. Keep barely moist in winter. Maintain a minimum winter temperature of about 5°C; the plants will lose their leaves but these will regrow in spring. Plants may be moved outdoors to a position in light, dappled shade in summer.
