A compact, free-flowering, deciduous climber to around 120cm in height, with fresh green leaves. The flowers are unusual as they appear pale pink to lilac with a dark pink stripe on new growth but solid dark pink flowers with little or no stripes on mature growth, with creamy anthers. They appear in May to July, with a second flush from September to October. Best grown in a pot or container with support, or left to scramble through other plants in beds and borders in a sunny or partly shaded area
