A deciduous shrub to 1.3m high with broadly oval, serrated green leaves that are tinted reddish bronze in autumn. Dome-shaped clusters of flowers are produced in summer, in vivid colours from rich red to deep rose to purple depending on the pH of the soil

Cultivation
