A dwarf perennial bulb, to around 15cm high, with pairs of upright, narrow, slightly grey-green leaves. Solitary, nodding white flowers are produced in late winter or early spring, with an olive green ovary above the petals, and narrow inner petals marked with a small inverse u shape at the tip
