A vigorous, upright, open, evergreen shrub with elliptic to ovate, glossy, dark green leaves and, in spring, single, white flowers with prominent, yellow anthers.

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained acid soil in a sheltered shade. Protect buds & flowers from cold, dry winds and early morning sun. Feed in mid-spring and early summer with a sequestered iron fertiliser. If container grown, use ericaceous compost. Suitable for wall training.
Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings
No pruning required but where needed this should be carried out after flowering. Deadhead after flowering
