An upright, spiny deciduous shrub to 2.5m in height, with dark green, glossy leaves. Clusters of darl rose-pink flowers are produced in spring on bare branches, followed, in autumn, by fragrant yellow fruits; an ideal variety for a low-growing hedge as it copes well with pruning. These can be used to make jams and jellies but please see notes on toxicity for further advice
