Compact deciduous climber to 2.4m tall, with mid-green leaves and single/semi-double, deep mauvish-pink flowers, to 15cm across, with overlapping tepals, each with brighter pink shading at the base that fades to lilac-pink, with a pale margin as the flower fades, flowering in late spring to early summer and occasionally in late summer

How to Grow

Cultivation

Plant in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, with the roots and base of the plant kept cool and shaded by other plants or a layer of pebbles at the base. Plant with the crown 5-8cm deep to encourage new shoots to grow from below ground level. Can be grown in containers at least 45cm deep and wide in a peat-free, loam-based potting compost.
