Other common names
Guzmania are stemless evergreen perennials forming a rosette of leathery strap-shaped leaves, with spikes of tubular white or yellow flowers and showy bracts, in summer
G. lingulata is an evergreen bromeliad forming rosettes of strap-shaped, glossy bright green leaves, from the centres of which arise short-stemmed spikes of yellow and white flowers with spreading orange or red bracts
