golden spirit is a large shrub, to 5m tall and wide, with almost circular leaves that open bronze then turn golden yellow, with coral pink, red and orange tints in autumn. Insignificant green flowers are carried in large, softly-hairy plumes in late summer and early autumn
'Royal Purple' is a bushy large deciduous shrub to 5m, with rounded, deep purple leaves becoming redder in autumn. Large feathery, pink inflorescences in summer
'Grace' is a vigorous shrub with rounded, rich purple leaves to 10cm long, turning reddish in autumn, and large feathery deep pink fruiting plumes
'Young Lady' is a compact, dwarf cultivar which flowers freely with large plumes of pink flowers
'Flame' is a large deciduous shrub to 6m, with rounded leaves to 12cm in length, turning bright orange and red in autumn. Large feathery pink inflorescences
C. coggygria is a large, bushy, deciduous shrub to 5m, with rounded leaves turning yellow, orange and red in autumn. Large feathery inflorescences are buff at first, later greyish
C. obovatus is a vigorous large deciduous shrub with large rounded leaves opening purplish-pink, later green; turning orange, red and purple in autumn. Flowers pinkish in a plume to 30cm in length
