It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Earthwalker' is strong, vigorous annual, up to 3m high, with coarse green leaves and abundant, multi-headed flowers, in late summer, with dark brown centres and ray florets which may be rich yellow, terracotta orange, dark red or warm brown
'Sunsation Yellow' is a compact annual, to 75cm tall, with glossy, dark green, ovate leaves. Flowerheads, borne from summer into autumn, are yellow with brown centres and reach up to 17cm in diameter
H. salicifolius is a vigorous perennial forming a substantial clump of erect stems, with narrow, arching leaves and large sprays of brown-centred yellow daisies 5-7cm wide opening in early autumn; grown largely for foliage effect
'Gullick's Variety' is a robust upright perennial to 2m, the flower heads to 10cm wide, with bright yellow rays surrounding a dark red centre
'Monarch' is an herbaceous perennial making a clump to 2.5m tall, with lance-shaped or ovate leaves to 30cm long and semi-double, dark-centred, rich yellow flower-heads 10-15cm wide from late summer through early autumn
'Ballad' is a compact, branching annual, to 75cm tall, with oval to heart-shaped, hairy, toothed leaves and bright yellow flower,s with dark brown centres, to 13cm in diameter
'Teddy Bear' is an upright annual to 1m tall, with broadly ovate leaves and rounded, fully-double bright yellow flowerheads to 12cm wide, in summer
'Loddon Gold' is an herbaceous perennial making a clump to 1.5m in height, with rough, ovate leaves to 20cm in length and fully-double, deep yellow flower-heads 10-12cm in width
'Giraffe' is strong, vigorous annual, up to 4.5m high, with coarse green leaves and large flowers, 30cm or more across, in late summer and early autumn with dark brown centres and yellow ray florets
'Miss Mellish' is a robust perennial to 1.8m tall, with deep yellow, semi-double flower heads 10cm across in late summer and early autumn
