It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Amethyst Myst' forms a neat clump of wine-red leaves, suffused with silvery-grey between the veins, and deep red beneath, with sprays of small off-white flowers in early summer
'Greenfinch' is a clump-forming perennial with rounded and shallowly lobed leaves and yellowish-green flowers on spikes to 1m tall
'Winter Joy' (Seasonal Selection Series) A compact mound forming perennial, with bright yellow, lime-green leaves which are scorch resistant. Panicles of small white flowers
'Fireworks' is a semi-evergreen perennial forming a clump of rounded, slightly ruffled, bronze-purple leaves, with sprays of coral-pink flowers in summer
'Green Spice' is a decorative-leaved cultivar, whose lobed and rounded leaves are predominantly silver-green with a green edge and burgundy leaf veins. Dainty panicles of pale pink flowers are borne in late spring
'Zipper' is a slow-growing, clump-forming perennial, with leaves which form a mound 20cm high and which emerge orange in spring, becoming golden amber in summer, orange in autumn and golden amber in winter, and which are very ruffled so that the magenta-pink undersides are also visible, and white flowers in summer and autumn
Ebony and Ivory is a clump-forming perennial with strongly ruffled, toothed, dark bronze-purple leaves and contrasting small cream flowers in slender sprays in early summer
'Circus' is a clump-forming perennial with large lime leaves with red-black veining. Leaves go pink in colour in autumn and bear panicles of bright pink flowers through summer.
'Beauty Colour' is an evergreen perennial forming a mound of shallowly lobed silvery leaves, purple beneath, with green margins and netted with dark veins; small pinkish flowers in early summer
'Sweet Tart' PBR A compact mound forming perennial with lemon-lime green palmate leaves, panicles of bicoloured cerise and pale pink flowers
