AGM plants have been through a rigorous trial and assessment programme. They are:
B. alternifolia is a vigorous large deciduous shrub which can be trained into a small tree, with arching branches bearing narrow, grey-green leaves and sweetly scented lilac-purple flowers, borne in clusters along the previous year's shoots
B. auriculata is an evergreen shrub to 3m, with lance-shaped, dark green leaves white beneath, and small orange-centred, white flowers in dense panicles in autumn and winter
B. globosa is a large semi-evergreen or deciduous shrub to 5m, with dark green leaves and dense globose heads 2cm across of sweet-scented bright orange-yellow flowers in loose clusters at branch tips in early summer
B. lindleyana is a deciduous shrub with ovate leaves to 20cm long, and curved, tubular, violet flowers 2cm long, borne in lax slender panicles at the ends of the branches in late summer
B. salviifolia is a semi-evergreen shrub of arching habit, with finely wrinkled, lance-shaped, grey-green leaves and narrow panicles of small pale mauve flowers, orange in the throat, in autumn and early winter
'Sungold' is a large deciduous shrub with arching branches bearing narrow, dark green leaves and rounded clusters of sweetly scented orange-yellow flowers in summer and autumn
'Nanho Blue' is a deciduous shrub with neat, narrowly lance-shaped leaves and slender cylindrical panicles of light blue flowers in summer and autumn
'Lochinch' is a large but compact deciduous shrub with arching branches, grey-green leaves and long slender panicles of light violet-blue, orange-eyed, sweetly-scented flowers
'Pink Delight' is a medium-sized deciduous shrub with narrow leaves whitish beneath, and slender panicles of pink flowers at tips of current year's growth
B. fallowiana var. alba is a large deciduous shrub, branches arching and, like the lance-shaped leaves, covered with woolly white hairs. Flowers cream with an orange eye, sweetly scented
