'Blue Horizon' is a cultivar with a good tight growth habit. Flowers are violet-blue with a small orange eye
'Harlequin' is a variegated deciduous shrub to 3m, with lance-shaped leaves margined with creamy-white, and dense cylindrical sprays of small, fragrant reddish-purple flowers in summer and autumn
'Île de France' is a deciduous, bushy shrub, to 3.5m tall and wide, with arching branches and lance-shaped leaves. Long racemes of deep violet-purple flowers with yellow-orange throats are borne from summer into autumn
B. madagascariensis is a strong-growing, lax evergreen shrub with white-hairy shoots, narrow dark green leaves white-felted beneath, and long slender panicles of fragrant orange-yellow flowers from autumn to spring
'Dartmoor' is a large, vigorous, deciduous shrub with arching branches bearing lance-shaped leaves, white beneath. Flowers scented, light purple, in broad, branching panicles at ends of current year's shoots
B. fallowiana var. alba is a large deciduous shrub, branches arching and, like the lance-shaped leaves, covered with woolly white hairs. Flowers cream with an orange eye, sweetly scented
B. globosa is a large semi-evergreen or deciduous shrub to 5m, with dark green leaves and dense globose heads 2cm across of sweet-scented bright orange-yellow flowers in loose clusters at branch tips in early summer
'Morning Mist' is a semi-evergreen shrub and more compact than many other cultivars reaching a maximum height and spread of 2m. Its lance-shaped leaves are silver-grey and woolly. Short, dense panicles of white flowers with mustard-coloured centres are borne on arching branches in late summer
'Lochinch' is a large but compact deciduous shrub with arching branches, grey-green leaves and long slender panicles of light violet-blue, orange-eyed, sweetly-scented flowers
'Border Beauty' is a compact, deciduous shrub to 2m tall and wide with lance-shaped leaves and from summer into autumn, deep crimson-purple, fragrant flowers in panicles to 20cm long on dark stems
