It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Deutschland' is a compact plant to 60cm tall, with glossy green foliage and open, slightly arching sprays of white flowers in late spring or early summer
A. tabularis is a vigorous perennial to 1.5m in height, with rounded leaves to 100cm across, and small cream flowers
'Vision in Red' is an herbaceous perennial, to 50cm in height, with divided, mid-green to bronze leaves and panicles of purple-red flowers, giving a plume-like appearance, in late summer and early autumn
A. chinensis var. davidii is one of the tallest, growing to 2m, with bronze-tinted leaves and erect panicles of purplish-pink flowers in late summer
A. rivularis var. myriantha is a perennial to 1.8m, forming a bold clump of handsome, divided foliage, with greenish-white flowers borne in large, branched and drooping sprays in summer giving a graceful effect. Flowers late in the season
A. glaberrima var. saxatilis is a dwarf herbaceous perennial to 15cm, with glossy bronze-green, deeply divided leaves and short sprays of pink-tinged white flowers
'Atrorosea' is a compact, clump-forming perennial to 50cm with shiny, green, divided foliage. Upright plumes of rose-pink flowers are produced in mid-summer
'Bronce Elegans' is a compact herbaceous perennial to 30cm, with attractively divided green leaves flushed with bronze when young, and open sprays of creamy-pink flowers tinged salmon
A. rivularis is a perennial to 1.8m, forming a bold clump of handsome, divided foliage, with greenish-white flowers borne in large arching sprays in summer
'Brautschleier' is a perennial to 70cm in height, with glossy, divided, bright green leaves and large, branched, open sprays of pure white flowers opening from green buds
