C. viridis is one of the hardier bottlebrushes, with an arching but compact habit, sharply pointed leaves and yellow-green flowers in mid- to late summer. The woody seedcases can persist for several years
C. rigidus is a bushy shrub with narrowly dark green leaves to 15cm long, and bright deep red flowers in spikes to 10cm long in summer
'Mauve Mist' is a spreading, evergreen shrub with short, narrow, mid-green, leathery leaves, tapered at each end. Mauve-pink flowers, fading with age, are produced in 10cm long bottlebrushes in summer
'Splendens' is a lax medium-sized evergreen shrub with slender arching branches clothed with narrow, rather stiff leaves, and bearing bright crimson bottlebrush-like flower spikes 15cm in length near the shoot tips
'Little John' is a dwarf, compact variety to about 1m, with narrow, leathery, aromatic, grey-green leaves and bright red, bottlebrush flowers from late spring to mid-summer
C.linearis is a bushy, medium-sized shrub with linear leaves and red bottlebrush spikes up to 12cm long. Leaves are aromatic when crushed
C. pallidus is an erect or spreading evergreen shrub, 2-4m high, with numerous slender branches. The young shoots are silvery or red and covered in silky hairs, as well as narrowly-elliptic, grey-green or dark green, leaves up to 10cm long. Cream or pale yellow flowers, in semi-open "bottlebrush" spikes 10cm long, appear from late spring to midsummer, followed by woody fruit capsules which may persist for several years
'Perth Pink' is a compact, bushy shrub with narrow, mid-green, leathery, aromatic leaves that are pink when young. Bright pink bottlebrush flowers up to 10cm long are produced in spring and autumn
'Captain Cook' is a dense, rounded shrub with narrow, evergreen leaves. Bright red, bottlebrush flowers 10-15cm long are produced from early summer to autumn
