It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Sweet Marmalade' is a compact, bushy perennial to 50cm tall forming a dense mound of deeply-dissected, thread-like foliage. Daisy-like flowerheads to 2.5cm in diameter and opening deep orange before fading to a soft apricot yellow are borne from summer into early autumn
'Rum Punch' is a compact, short-lived perennial to 40cm tall forming a bushy mound of divided, feathery foliage above which masses of orange-pink flowerheads aging to rose-red are borne from summer into early autumn
'Sunfire' is a bushy, clump-forming, short-lived perennial often grown as an annual to around 50cm tall forming neat mounds of divided foliage. This early-flowering cultivar bears single, golden-yellow flowers with burgundy-red eyes on upright stems from spring into summer
'Grandiflora' is a compact herbaceous perennial to 60cm, with finely divided leaves and deep golden-yellow daisies borne in an open, branched inflorescence
C. tinctoria is an upright, fast-growing annual, with lance-shaped leaves, reaching a height of 1m by the end of the season. From summer into early autumn, daisy-like bright yellow flowerheads with red centres are borne on branching stems
'Star Cluster' is a short-lived perennial forming a bushy mound of narrow, divided foliage to around 60cm tall and wide above which flowerheads of creamy-white petals flecked with purple at the base surrounding a golden eye are borne in profusion from summer into autumn
'Crème Brûleé' is a vigorous, bushy perennial with finely divided leaves and yellow, single, daisy-like flower-heads 2.5cm across from mid-summer to mid-autumn
'Pumpkin Pie' is a short-lived perennial, producing a mound of narrow foliage about 15cm high and 40cm across, studded with red-eyed, orange flowers from early summer to early autumn
'Kelvin Harbutt' is a tall perennial with finely divided foliage and brown-centred, single yellow daisies from late spring to early autumn
'Bengal Tiger' is a bushy herbaceous perennial up to 55cm high, with finely cut green leaves, and flowers with eight ray florets, the outer halves yellow and the inner halves red, and red centres, from midsummer to autumn
