It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Nikko' is a compact and low-growing shrub 60cm tall, with narrowly lance-shaped leaves often turning deep purple in autumn, and racemes of small white flowers in spring and early summer
'Rosealind' is an arching medium-sized deciduous shrub with ovate leaves to 10cm in length. Flowers deep rosy-pink, 2cm in width, in large clusters
'Candidissima' is a tall, erect-branched shrub producing large clusters of honey-scented, double white flowers in June and July
D. ningpoensis is a deciduous shrub to 2m, with narrowly lance-shaped leaves and panicles of starry white flowers, sometimes tinged pink, in summer
D. gracilis is an upright, bushy, deciduous shrub to 1m with bright green leaves to 6cm long and fragrant, star-shaped, white flowers produced in small, erect sprays from spring to early summer
yuki cherry blossom is a compact, rounded, deciduous shrub to around 60cm tall and wide with ovate, dark green leaves to 7.5cm long that turn attractive shades of purple and bronze in autumn. Panicles of small flowers are borne in late spring and early summer; petals are pink with white margins on the outside and white with a soft pink tint on the inside
D. pulchra is a bushy, upright shrub with scurfy, lance-shaped leaves to 10cm long and pendant panicles of pink-tinged white flowers in late spring and early summer
'Iris Alford' is an upright, deciduous shrub to 1.5m tall with roughly hairy, ovate to lance-shaped leaves and purple shoots. In early summer, flowers up to 2.5cm across, white inside and purple-pink on the reverse with white margins on the petals, emerge from deep purple-pink buds
D. setchuenensis var. corymbiflora is a compact deciduous shrub with ovate leaves and flattened clusters of small, pure white flowers
'Codsall Pink' is a tall, erect-branched shrub producing large clusters of pretty, honey-scented double white flowers, flushed rosy-pink on the backs of the outer petals in June and July
