G. sagittalis is a prostrate deciduous shrub to 15cm tall, forming a wide mat of flattened, upright stems bearing sparse, small leaves and terminal clusters of yellow flowers 10mm long, in early summer
G. x spachiana is an evergreen shrub with small, dark green trifoliate leaves and very fragrant small yellow flowers in slender terminal racemes to 10cm long in late winter and early spring
G. canariensis is a vigorous evergreen shrub to 3m, of bushy, upright habit, with small, trifoliate leaves and slender terminal racemes of fragrant bright yellow flowers in spring and summer
G. aetnensis is a large deciduous shrub or small tree of evergreen appearance, with slender, arching green shoots and small, sparse leaves. Flowers bright yellow, fragrant, pea-shaped, very abundant in mid- and late summer
'Royal Gold' is a deciduous dwarf shrub of upright growth, with small, narrow dark green leaves and deep golden-yellow flowers in dense erect racemes often clustered into panicles, in spring and early summer
'Porlock' is a semi-evergreen, medium-sized shrub with small leaves and racemes of fragrant, bright yellow flowers in spring
G. lydia is a compact deciduous dwarf shrub with arching or trailing branches. Leaves small, flowers pea-like, bright yellow, in terminal clusters in early summer
G. hispanica is a spiny, gorse-like deciduous shrub with green stems and spines and leafy flowering shoots bearing terminal clusters of bright yellow flowers 12mm long in late spring and early summer
