It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Woodbridge' is a medium-sized, upright deciduous shrub with dark, lobed leaves. Flowers to 10cm in width, single, deep pink, with dark red centres
'Speciosus' is an upright shrub up to 2.5m high, with deciduous, three-lobed, green leaves, and double white flowers, with dark red centres and veins, from late summer to mid-autumn
'Oiseau Bleu' is a medium-sized, upright deciduous shrub with lobed, dark green leaves. Flowers single, violet-blue with a maroon centre, to 8cm in width, in late summer and autumn
'Mauve Queen' is an upright shrub up to 2.5m high, with deciduous, three-lobed, green leaves, and single clear mauve flowers with dark red centres and veins and cream stamens from late summer to mid-autumn; honeybees and bumblebees may visit for pollen
White Chiffon is a vigorous deciduous shrub with dark green, shallowly lobed leaves and pure white flowers to 10cm across from late summer, with five large outer petals surrounding a centre of small, petaloid stamens
Ultramarine 'Minultra' is a vigorous upright shrub up to 3m high, with deciduous, three-lobed green leaves, and single deep violet-blue flowers, 8-10cm across, with dark red centres and veins and cream stamens, from midsummer to early autumn; honeybees and bumblebees may visit for pollen
French Point is a large, upright, deciduous shrub to 2.5m with three-lobed, mid-green leaves. Semi-double flowers, produced from early summer to early autumn, have large, white, outer petals with a feathered, crimson blotch at the base, and a cluster of small, white petals in the centre
'Snowdrift' is a large, upright, deciduous shrub to 3m with mid-green, three-lobed leaves. Large, single, pure white flowers are produced from mid-summer to early autumn
'Coelestis' is a shrub about 2.5m high, with deciduous, three-lobed, green leaves, and single, pale violet-lilac flowers, with dark red centres and veins and cream stamens, from late summer to mid-autumn; honeybees and bumblebees may visit for pollen
'William R. Smith' is a robust deciduous shrub with dark green, three-lobed leaves and single white flowers to 10cm across in late summer and autumn
