It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Persian Slipper' is an upright perennial, to 90cm tall, with divided green leaves. From early summer, deep violet-blue and white flowers are borne on spikes above the foliage
'The Governor' is an upright perennial forming a clump to 90cm tall, with spike-like racemes of deep blue flowers with contrasting white standard petals, in early and mid summer
'Gallery White' is a compact, clump-forming perennial to 60cm tall with palmately-divided leaves and erect spikes of scented, white flowers from late spring into summer
'My Castle' is a seed-raised, upright perennial to 90cm tall, with dense racemes of fragrant, brick-red to dusky rose flowers, often with a darker standard petal, in early and mid summer
Band of Nobles Series are robust biennials or short-lived perennials with erect racemes of fragrant flowers in shades of blue, pink, cream, red and yellow, some bicoloured, in early summer
'Masterpiece' is an upright perennial to about 75cm tall, with deeply-lobed, palmate leaves and tall spikes of scented, red-purple flowers, with a small orange fleck on the standard petals, in early and mid summer
L. mutabilis is an erect, bushy annual with blue-green leaves of seven to nine leaflets and upright spires of small, pea-like flowers with pale purple-blue keels, yellow standards and deep blue wings. The seeds can be processed to make them edible
'Polar Princess' is an upright, clump-forming perennial, to around 75cm tall, with palmately-divided, green foliage and, in summer, plump spikes tightly-packed with pure white, scented flowers
'Red Rum' is an upright, clump-forming perennial, to 90cm tall, with palmately-divided green leaves. Spikes of deep rose-red flowers, flecked with white, are borne over a long period from late spring into summer
'Chandelier' is a perenial forming a clump of palmate foliage, with long racemes of yellow flowers from early summer
