O. stellulata is a bushy upright evergreen shrub with grey-green, oblong leaves white-felted beneath, and loose clusters of small, yellow-centred, white daisy-like flower-heads in spring and early summer
'Comber's Blue' is an upright shrub up to 2m high with oblong to narrowly obovate, aromatic leaves 3-4cm long with shallowly toothed wavy edges, grey-green above, densely covered with white or grey-white wool below, and many clusters up to 7cm across of flowerheads, each 3cm across and with mid-blue ray-florets and yellow centres, so that they look like shrubby Michaelmas daisies, but flowering in spring and early summer
'Master Michael' is a rounded, evergreen shrub with wavy-edged leaves that are grey-green above and felted, pale green below. The daisy-like flowers are purple with yellow centres and appear in profuse clusters in late spring
O. paniculata is an upright large shrub or small tree up to 6m high with young shoots covered in dark brown felt, elliptic to ovate-oblong, wavy-edged leaves, to 10cm long, shiny, soft olive-green above and covered with soft buff or silvery down below, and dull white flowerheads, 6mm across, which look inconspicuous but are noticeably scented, in autumn and early winter
'Comber's Pink' is a medium-sized, evergreen shrub to 1.8m in height, with toothed, ovate, grey-green leaves, white-felted beneath and 9cm in length. Clusters of daisy-like, dark-pink flowers with yellow centres are produced in early summer
P. insignis is a low-growing evergreen shrub, spreading wider than high, rarely more than 1m in cultivation. Young shoots and stems are thickly clad in white or pale brown felting, though the simple, ovate leaves, which are 7-12cm long, become glossy dark green above when they mature. Flowerheads are solitary, borne on stalks 10-20cm long from shoot tips or upper leaf axils. The heads are daisy-like, to 7cm across, with pure white ray florets surrounding a dense yellow disc, surrounded by a striking egg-shaped felted involucre
O. × haastii is a dense, bushy shrub with smooth, oval, evergreen leaves; dark green and glossy above, felted white below. Dense sprays of star-shaped, white flowers appear in mid- to late summer
O. cheesemanii is an evergreen, broadly columnar shrub up to 4m high with down-covered young shoots, narrow, slightly toothed leaves up to 9cm long, glossy dark green above and covered with soft buff or silvery down below, and branched clusters up to 20cm across of scented flower heads, each about 1cm across, with yellow centres and white ray florets, from late spring to early summer
'Zennorensis' is a small evergreen shrub with narrowly oblong, strongly-toothed leaves to 10cm long, white-hairy beneath, and rounded clusters of small, white flowers in late spring
O. macrodonta is a vigorous medium-sized evergreen shrub with spiny-toothed, ovate, grey-green leaves, white-felted beneath, up to 9cm in length. Small, fragrant white flowers are borne in large clusters in summer
