'Castlewellan' is a slow-growing cultivar, but will eventually form a large dense, wide-spreading bush to 5m tall. Leaves are green and grey-green, marbled with white throughout
'Rotundifolia' is vigorous, bushy and upright in habit, reaching a height of 5m. Oblong, glossy leaves are twisted around upon themselves, and are pale green beneath. Cup-shaped fragrant white flowers in upright racemes 5-12cm long in mid and late spring are followed by cherry-like red fruits, ripening to black
P. laurocerasus is a vigorous, large, spreading evergreen shrub with handsome, glossy dark green leaves to 15cm in length. Small white flowers in erect racemes to 12cm in length are followed by cherry-like glossy red fruits soon turning black
'Otto Luyken' is a spreading evergreen shrub to 1m tall, with dense, low growth, and narrow, glossy dark green leaves. Flowers small, white in erect racemes; fruits cherry-like, red turning glossy black
