It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
R. campylogynum is a dwarf evergreen shrub with small, glossy leaves, glaucous beneath, and open bell-shaped, pale or deep rosy-purple or pink flowers 2.5cm across in late spring
'Hydon Dawn' is a compact evergreen shrub to 1.5m tall, of dense habit, with glossy, dark green foliage with cream felt beneath. Rounded trusses of frilled, pale pink flowers, 5cm in width, which fade to near-white, are produced in late spring
Myrtilloides Group is a dwarf, evergreen shrub forming a low, spreading mound up to 40cm high. Waxy plum-purple, thimble-shaped flowers appear on long stems all over the plant in late spring
'Addy Wery' is a small, evergreen azalea to 1.2m tall, with small, mid-green leaves and abundant, intense orange-red, trumpet-shaped flowers, 4cm in width, in mid to late spring
'Blaauw's Pink' is a small evergreen azalea of low, spreading growth, with small mid-green leaves and hose-in-hose, salmon-pink flowers, 4cm in width, in mid spring
'Hachmann's Marlis' is a low, spreading evergreen shrub with slender, dark green leaves, grey-white beneath, and in late spring it produces trusses of white, bell-shaped flowers, to 7.5cm across, edged with deep purple-pink and marked with red
R. pachysanthum is a mound-forming evergreen shrub, to 2.5m tall, with narrowly-oblong leaves to 9cm in length, at first whitish, later dark green above, brown-felted beneath. Bell-shaped, red-spotted pale pink flowers are held in dense trusses in early and mid spring
R. racemosum is a compact, upright evergreen shrub, to 2m tall, with small leathery, mid to dark green leaves, glaucous beneath, and abundant small clusters of funnel-shaped white, light or deep pink flowers, 3cm across, in early spring
R. russatum is a small evergreen shrub, to 1.2m tall, with aromatic dark green leaves, brown-scaly beneath and up to 4cm in length. Flowers in dense clusters in mid to late spring, intense blue-purple with a pale centre, each flower 2.5cm in width
'Mrs T.H. Lowinsky' is a vigorous evergreen shrub to 3m tall, with broad, dark, glossy leaves, to 9cm long, and dense trusses of mauve buds opening to funnel-shaped, white-centred lilac flowers, heavily-spotted orange-brown in the throat, in early summer
