Show Gardens

This contemporary show garden is dominated by a series of vertical triangles that change perspective as visitors pass through them. It explores the theme of ‘fragmentation’, with a pathway and raised beds made from broken copper slate paving, while a water feature at the heart of the space provides a reflective space for contemplation and creativity.

A limited palette of plants complements the black posts that provide architectural interest within the design. Cordyline australis matches their height, and Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’, reflects their colour and Trachelospermum jasminoides softens the hard landscaping.

The choice of materials includes broken paving that would usually go to landfill and reclaimed wood. After the show, the garden will be relocated to the design company Helyers of Hampshire’s office in Fareham.
