Bridgwater Lates Planting For The Planet – Thursday 9 and 16 June

Inspired by the Planting For The Planet Exhibition (in the potting sheds 28 May–27 August), over the first two Bridgewater Lates, we will be exploring climate change and the relationship between art, artistic practices and the planet through a programme of workshops, activities and discussions.

Climate Cafe with Dinah Dosser from Climate Psychology Alliance (9 June only)
6.45pm–7.30pm and 7.45pm–8.30pm, Learning studio 2
Our Climate Cafe is a warm, friendly, hospitable occasion where we can talk about what our changing climate means for us, exploring some complex feelings and thoughts, which may often be taboo and hard to talk about in our communities or families. It’s an action-free space, a chance to share our responses to climate change – a thinking space, a haven from busyness and activity.

Please do bring a drink and a cake or snack to enjoy while we talk. The Cafe will be conducted by a facilitator trained by the Climate Psychology Alliance, and further information and resources are available on this website. We will also have a co-facilitator who works in horticultural therapy.

This is a taster cafe will last for 45 minutes.

Please note: There are limited spaces for this event. There is no prebooking and spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis

Sustainable Pottery Workshop
6.15pm–8.30pm, Learning Studio 1

Join us for a dropiin taster session exploring sustainable pottery techniques, using natural materials and plant based tools to create your own clay 'confectonary'.  Practice Studios and Easy Peel Studios will help you explore the process and skills of creating truly recyclable and reusable pottery. They will be looking at the journey that clay can take from coming out of the ground and how it can, without firing then be returned back to the ground completing the recylcing process.

Please note: There is a limited number of people at any one time, so you may need to wait until the next space becomes available.

Sustainable Woodwork

A drop-in workshop run by greenwood work team Start Creative. Find out more about the work, the projects at Bridgewater and social and educational impact these projects and commissions have had on the communities in Salford. All while trying your hand at some green woodworking techniques.
