Located in Salford, Greater Manchester, RHS Bridgewater is one of the newest RHS Gardens and one of the most ambitious gardening projects for the RHS. Opened in 2021 on the site of the historic Worsley New Hall estate, it has transformed a long-neglected landscape into a thriving garden for everyone to enjoy.

Today, the 154-acre garden is a place for people to connect with nature, learn about horticulture, and experience the wellbeing that gardens can bring. As RHS Bridgewater continues to grow and evolve, it inspires communities across the North West and beyond.

With your support RHS Bridgewater can continue to grow and spread joy. Your donation could help to:

  • Enhance wildlife habitats
  • Fund new horticultural projects
  • Provide educational programs and experiences
  • Deliver a health and wellbeing programme for communities in Greater Manchester
  • Maintain and improve garden features

“We have great ambitions for the development of RHS Bridgewater, including planting a climate resilient and beautiful new arboretum in the next few years. With your support we can continue to grow this stunning garden, providing a space to be enjoyed for generations to come.”

RHS Bridgewater Curator’s Circle

A fantastic way to help the development of RHS Bridgewater. There are three levels to choose from below, with each level benefitting from special access to the garden and the RHS:

RHS Bridgewater learning facilities

Helping to create inspiring spaces where learning and nature come together:

Plans are taking shape for new learning facilities at RHS Bridgewater, designed with a biophilic approach to bring nature into the classroom and inspire future gardeners. Alongside this, the Working Wood will create a woodland workshop and outdoor learning space focused on sharing traditional countryside skills, particularly with disadvantaged young people.

This wonderful new landscape will offer a beautiful, tranquil space for visitors to connect with trees and nature, while improving biodiversity and nurturing the local environment for future generations.

RHS Bridgewater Elemental Borders

Help redevelop and transform these popular borders:

Bring the Elemental Borders to life at RHS Bridgewater by donating to this inspiring project. This stunning new horticultural feature, inspired by the natural elements, saw its first section, Air, completed in 2025. The remaining elemental gardens, themed around Water, Earth and Fire, will be created as funding is secured through charitable donations.
