Come along after hours to RHS Garden Bridgewater on select Thursdays throughout June, where you get the chance to spend a glorious summer evening in the garden. Alongside the garden being open into the summer evenings, each Bridgewater Late will explore exciting topics, workshops, talks and more.

Each late opening has a different theme and activities, so you should be able to find a Bridgewater Late that appeals to you. Bookings are split into 30-minute time slots, and once you have entered the garden, you are welcome to stay for as long as you wish until the garden closes at 9pm.

Bridgewater Lates Windrush – Thursday 23 June

Dawn Evans curates an evening at RHS Garden Bridgewater inspired by her Windrush garden. In 2021, Dawn's garden Windrush, inspired by memories of her parents’ Jamaican heritage and their generation’s journey to the UK, was shown at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Flower before being installed at Bridgewater.

Activities during the evening:

Batik Corsage workshop
6.15pm–8.30pm, Middle Wood events space

Create your own batik corsage to take home with Lorene Rhoomes. Using wax-printed batik, you will be able to pick from a range of colours and patterns and find out about this fascinating technique and the history behind it before coming away with your own unique corsage.

In conversation with BBC Radio Manchester’s Karen Gabay
6.30pm and 7.30pm, Middle Wood Events Space

Dawn Evans talks about her inspirations and how she created a tropical haven in Greater Manchester.

Alexander D Great, Calypso singer
Various times throughout the evening

Hear the vibrant sounds of calypso-based music that is completely of our times.
