A semi-evergreen, upright, bushy perennial with yellowish green foliage of a rugose texture on the top surface and hairy on the underside. Has large, bicolored lipped flowers, luminous dark violet on the upper lip and dusky lavender on the lower lip, and a rich violet calyx in summer and autumn.
