Spreading the word

Our Marketing, Communications and Editorial teams promote products, projects and the power of gardening to drive visits, membership sales, and audience engagement. Join us and you’ll work with beautiful products and initiatives that benefit people, places and plants and excite all ages and backgrounds on their lifelong adventure with gardening.

We deal with paid and earned media and work with everyone from librarians to scientists, and we’re on-site at our gardens and shows, including the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. With so much happening, everyone in the team helps out. You’ll be contributing to a variety of high-profile projects, campaigns and events that reach millions of people.

Our Marketing, Communications and Editorial teams

Membership and CRM

RHS members are vital in supporting our ongoing charity work. Join this team and you’ll play a key role in nurturing the relationship with our 630,000 existing members and attracting new ones. As part of this, our CRM team are always looking for new ways to understand what our customers and members are looking for. As a member of the team, you could be involved in developing and driving a major long-term CRM programme across the RHS.

Brand and Visitor Campaigns

In this team, you could be working to elevate the overarching RHS brand, ensuring that we’re represented with one vision and one voice and optimising all our visual and digital assets. Alternatively, you could be drawing on your marketing planning, creative and distribution expertise to promote RHS Shows, Gardens, retail or travel trade offering.

Editorial, Print and Production services

Join our Editorial team and help us promote the power of gardening and plants to millions of people – from writing, editing and designing on The Garden magazine to designing, planning, creating, filming and editing content on our website or writing for specialist horticultural publications and RHS Show Guides. You could also work as a producer or presenter on our gardening podcast, work with publishers to develop ideas for RHS books, or be part of the print services team, where you’ll coordinate all print services for the business.

Media and Insight

Join this team and you’ll be using your expertise in a range of marketing areas to support your RHS marketing colleagues. With specialist knowledge of paid media, e-marketing and customer insight, our work supports and informs a variety of marketing campaigns. As part of our customer insight work, we run all RHS stakeholder research. We also manage the relationship with our paid media agency.

Press and PR

We’re at the heart of media relations for the RHS. With a proactive, creative approach, we aim to promote the organisation’s work and highlight the positive effects of gardens and gardening. How? By generating favourable print, online and broadcast press coverage. As the team that manages RHS relations with the media, we also play a major role in protecting our reputation and managing any crises.

Social media

In our social media team, you’ll help promote our activities and sustainability messaging, optimise our reputation across a range of platforms and grow new audiences. You’ll be creating compelling content and  engaging positively with like-minded followers to excite and inspire them about gardening, and it means growing our social media audiences across our owned social accounts on Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Threads.

Public affairs

To achieve our mission and promote the value of gardening to everyone, it’s vital to influence policymakers. That’s where we come in. As a member of the team, you’ll be developing and managing relationships with key decision-makers at the highest levels. That involves connecting with government ministers, political representatives and senior horticultural industry figures. It means raising the profile of horticulture and highlighting the positive effects of gardening and gardens on people, plants and the planet.

As a video professional, what could be better than having some of the world’s most beautiful backdrops for your work? Not to mention the chance to create inspirational films that capture people’s imaginations. Join our video team and that’s what you can look forward to. With the opportunity to create videos that promote all the physical, emotional and environmental benefits of gardening, and to engage a full range of audiences around the world on our website, social media channels and YouTube platform.
