Installing the app

1. Get the RHS The Garden app

Our app is available via the App Store and Google Play and includes a full monthly version of The Garden, plus back issues from 2021 onwards.

2. Linking your account

Once you have downloaded the app, link up your myRHS account to gain full access to the articles, magazines, videos and podcasts.

Visit My RHS to start creating your My RHS account. Select ‘Create your free account’ and then fill in the details.

Make sure to select the ‘Link your RHS Membership’ button near the bottom of the form to connect your RHS Membership details to your account.

You can download the app via the App Store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android devices. Alternatively, visit RHS The Garden.

Once you have downloaded and opened the app, select the ‘Settings’ option at the bottom of the screen, then choose ‘Sign in’ under the Account section. You will be prompted to enter your email address and password. You must use the same email address and password you used when creating your My RHS account.

Once you have signed in and linked up your accounts, you will be able to access all of the member-exclusive content in the app, including The Garden magazine. You can also view a digital version of the RHS Members’ Handbook.

Click the 'My RHS' link in top right of the RHS website and follow the instructions to 'Log in'. Input your email address and password and click the button 'Log in'. Click the 'My Account' drop down in the navigation.

On this page, click 'Link Membership'. Add your RHS Membership number, surname, postcode and country and click the 'Link' button. Click the 'My RHS' button to exit.

When you next sign out and back in, your welcome screen will show you logged in as a member.

Without linking up your accounts, the app will not register that you have a paid membership and will limit you to the free version.

If you are having issues with your account, go to the settings on the app and select 'Report an issue' this will bring up an email with two attachments. Add a breif description to explain what the issue is and hit send. This will email us with the background code so we can then investigate further.

Found an article you want to come back to later? hit the flag in the top of the articles. These articles are then saved into the 'Saved' section within the settings.

Non-members

In-app purchases

As a non-member, you can purchase copies of The Garden through our in-app purchases. Please download the app, find the magazine you would like to purchase, and follow the on-screen steps.

Members can read the magazine for free.

RHS Grow

Not an RHS Member - why not try our subscription app RHS Grow

In-app purchases are tied to the user's Apple ID, not to an RHS account. Apple manages and stores the purchase record against that Apple ID.

No, users don't need an RHS account or membership to purchase a single issue of The Garden magazine in the app. The purchase is handled entirely through Apple.

Yes, as long as both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID, they can access their purchases across devices. They'd just need to tap 'Restore Purchases' in the app on their iPad to access any previously brought issues.

Even if a user deletes the app, they car restore their purchase after reinstalling. As long as they're signed in with the same Apple ID, they can recover their purchase using the 'Restore Purchases' option within the app.
