RHS peat-free nursery finder

This list of nurseries have all been verified by the RHS as being 100% peat-free – there is no peat present in the growing media used for their plant production, including young or plug plants.

These nurseries offer a wide range of plant types and are located across the country, with many online options too. The list can be used by gardeners, growers and buyers to source 100% peat-free plants.

Peatlands store over twice as much carbon as all the world’s forests combined, despite being ten times smaller. They are unique ecosystems, with a range of wildlife depending on them. Extracting peat to use for growing plants destroys habitats, releases carbon and increases flood risk. Helping to preserve peat bogs, by choosing peat-free plants, is vital in the fight against climate change.
