I came to horticulture later in my career so to get up to speed I embarked on a study programme and worked as a volunteer at a garden.

Study for a horticultural qualification and at the same time do some practical horticulture as a job or volunteer.  Read widely, and keep up with new scientific developments.

I currently run a gardening school teaching a range of horticultural topics. I'm also a part-time horticultural advisor for the RHS. I enjoy sharing my love of gardening with others and promoting the mental and physical benefits that gardening brings.
