Learning from home

We’re encouraging Primary School pupils to learn, create, plant and discover at home using our RHS learning resources

Get learning

The RHS Education and Learning Team have linked up with the Campaign for School Gardening so that Primary School pupils can learn from home.

Our resource materials (below) will give you links to curriculum learning, fun activities, creative ideas and plenty to keep young gardeners active.

Discovering plants

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1

Begin to understand and focus on plant parts and what they need to grow healthily.

Exploring plants

Lower Key Stage 2

Get hands-on with plants to understand their lifecycle – from seed to shoot, to flower and fruit. Investigate the fascinating ways that plants make and disperse seeds to reproduce. Discover plants in different stages of life and identify parts of flowering plants through nature’s clues.

Investigating plants

Upper Key Stage 2

Investigate some of the mysterious ways plants adapt and reproduce. Think you know everything about plants? Think again.

Who lives in our garden?

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

Plants need animals and animals need plants. Find out more about the important role creatures play for the plants and soil.

Fantastic food

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

Edibles are incredible – learn to identify and discover edible plant parts and find out where your food comes from and how it is grown. Perhaps you will be inspired to grow some food with our support.

Gardens are good for you

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

Give your senses a workout with a variety of fun interactive activities. Explore and discover the world around you and appreciate gardens as an inspiring space. Learn to connect with nature.

Inspirational nature

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

Find inspiration in nature. Discover and use natural materials with a range of hands-on activities to begin your next art project.

Planting for the planet

Key Stage 2

Why is it great to be green? Why not try our activities to help support our environment and help to protect our plants and wildlife.
