Choose a self-guided visit to the garden

Bring your children to enjoy the gardens independently, taking part in your own activities or using our self-guided resources.

  • As well as the full programme of taught sessions at Hyde Hall, there is the opportunity for you to explore the garden on a self-guided visit
  • Children will get more out of their visit if they are in small, adult-led groups and have an activity to focus on

  • We have a collection of self-guided resources (below) for teachers to use on their visit to the garden
  • There are picnic areas available for use by self-guided groups to eat lunches

All pre-booked educational visits are free of charge. If you feel able to give a donation to the RHS to help support our educational work this would be much appreciated; we ask you to consider a donation of £3 per child for your visit.

    For self-guided educational visits for school groups of up to 20 pupils please contact us to discuss availability and details on how to book. Bookings for self-guided educational visits for larger groups will reopen for the Spring-Summer term (Apr-Jul) later in the year.
