Horticulturist RHS Garden Rosemoor

I enjoy seeing the seasons change and with it how the garden grows and changes throughout the year

I am a horticulturist at RHS Garden Rosemoor, and am responsible for the teaching gardens surrounding the Peter Buckley Learning Centre, here I maintain the allotment area, the forest garden, wildlife garden and teaching terrace. When I’m not working on the PBLC I work with the Lady Anne’s team, and am involved with tree work and landscaping projects.

I have worked at Rosemoor since September 2010. I studied a Plymouth University Bachelor of Science honours degree at Duchy College, Rosewarne in Cornwall, before taking up a yearlong role working for Tresco Abbey Gardens on the Isles of Scilly. After my year on Tresco had finished I came to Rosemoor as a trainee gardener before being taken on as a full time permanent member of staff.

I enjoy my job as a horticulturist, seeing the seasons change and with it how the garden grows and changes throughout the year, as well as being involved in a wide and diverse range of jobs, some days I can be out planting and weeding, whilst the next I can be helping repair irrigation systems or building and developing a new area of the garden.
