Read our January issue and find out more about the great work we've been doing over the last couple of months.
The Wellbeing garden will sit within the historic 11-acre Weston Walled Garden. The new design is the result of over six months’ consultation with over 20 organisations (including health, social care providers and charities) and will nurture people's mental and physical health.
Sophia Mason and Philippa Charles, from The Garfield Weston Foundation, together replaced the last of 100,000 bricks in the 170-year-old wall surrounding the 11-acre Walled Garden. The Garfield Weston Foundation have provided our largest single donation to date with a grant of 5 million towards the restoration of the Weston Walled Garden.
We have big and exciting ambitions for 2019. What better way to start the new year than by planting our very first tree on a sunny winter’s day! A hardy and coppery coloured beech is the perfect addition to the garden and the first of many trees to be planted on site.
Thanks to the very generous support of Salford Council, The Garfield Weston Foundation and other funders we’ve raised £11.5m. We now need to raise the final £5.5m so we can open the gates at RHS Garden Bridgewater for all to enjoy!
Tickets for our first batch of RHS Garden Bridgewater guided site tours 2019 are live! This is your chance to take a unique ‘behind the scenes’ look at Europe’s largest gardening project before we open in summer 2020.
Two landscape architect students, Stella Yang and Karsan Karavadra, from Manchester Metropolitan University, won a nationwide RHS competition to design a ‘Plant Factory’ garden inspired by the idea of plants as machines.
Our very own Project Engineer Laura Birkin was interviewed by BBC North West's Abbie Jones on a very rainy and muddy December day. They're very interested in all the work we're doing on the lake and in the garden.
Our lovely volunteers cleared the bottoms of the wall in the Paradise Garden in torrential downpours. The spirit and dedication of RHS Garden Bridgewater volunteers is nothing short of phenomenal!
We're a UK charity established to share the best in gardening. We want to enrich everyone's life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place.
