Are you spellbound by the unusual beauty of Cactus and Succulents?
If so, why not join the British Cactus and Succulent Society as we spend the weekend celebrating all things succulent and spikey?  We have gathered together some of the UK's most popular sellers, as well as many members of the society to discuss some of their favourite plants. The weekend will host fun activities to keep the younger ones occupied and informative talks for the older ones.

Saturday 30 September 2025
11:30 - 12noon  Cactus & Succulent Cultivation - Elizabeth Maddock
Designed to help people unused to looking after cacti and succulents, Elizabeth Maddock covers the compost, watering and feeding of these plants, highlighting the differences in their needs.
12:30 - 1  Propagating Cacti & Succulents - John Carr
John Carr offers some simple propagation techniques for the newcomer to cactus and succulent propagation.
1:30 - 2  The Succulent Poaching Epidemic in South Africa - Andy Young
In the space of just a few years the illegal collection of succulents in South Africa has reached catastrophic levels, especially among the dwarf genus Conophytum, with many now functionally extinct. Andy Young explores both the causes and impacts of poaching as well as possible conservation measures.
2:30 - 3  Cacti & Succulents: A Beginner's Guide - Jo Adderley-Jurkiewicz
Perfect for beginners growing cacti and succulents in greenhouses or on windowsills, JoAdderley-Jurkiewicz explores their origins, care techniques, propagation, repotting, and their ecological role - everything you need (and didn’t know you needed!) to kickstart your new hobby with confidence.
