The latest edition of RHS Plant Finder is available from 19 September 2026, bringing together the most up-to-date information on plants available to UK gardeners. Whether you’re searching for a favourite plant, looking for something new to grow or locating a specialist supplier, RHS Plant Finder remains an essential resource for gardeners and horticultural professionals alike.
New for 2027:

- Newly revised RHS Plants for Pollinators lists, updated following a review by RHS scientists
- A special feature exploring RHS Plant Trials and the newly renamed RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit
- Editor-selected highlights showcasing standout recent introductions across trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials, climbers, bulbs and tender plants
Janet Cubey, RHS Editor-in-Chief says: “Once the Plant Directory is finalised, the editorial team love discussing the incredible diversity of plants it contains. We gather notes made throughout the editing process, review the exciting new introductions submitted by nurseries and choose the plants we feel deserve special attention. Gardeners love discovering a new plant, whether it’s completely new to cultivation or simply new to them. We’d like to thank the nurseries who continue to share their latest introductions with us.”

Cream of the crop: The story behind RHS Recommended plants
A special feature in RHS Plant Finder 2027 explores the newly renamed RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit, one of horticulture’s most trusted marks of quality. Previously known as the RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM), it was renamed in 2026 to make its purpose clearer to gardeners and the horticultural industry. Today, more than 7,500 plants hold RHS Recommended: AGM status (with more than 6,000 included in the RHS Plant Finder), helping gardeners choose plants that have been proven to perform well in UK growing conditions.
The feature takes readers behind the scenes of RHS Plant Trials, explaining how plants are assessed by experts and what it takes to earn RHS Recommended status. It also explores recent improvements to the scheme, how gardeners can find award-winning plants and why the award remains an important benchmark for growers, nurseries, retailers and garden designers.
New plant spotlight: Aeonium ‘Jubilee’
One of the standout plants featured in this year’s edition is Aeonium ‘Jubilee’. Bred by Daniel Jackson and launched by Ottershaw Cacti in 2022 to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, this distinctive succulent was shortlisted for RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year in the same year.
Unlike many dark-leaved aeoniums, it develops a naturally branching habit, forming a compact mound around 35–40cm high and wide. Its glossy, deep coppery-purple are held on elegant stems, providing year-round colour and structure when grown in frost-free conditions.
