A dense, compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub or tree to around 2-3m tall, with a rounded habit. Green stems, striped greenish-yellow, produce variegated, dark green, generally spineless, glossy foliage, mottled yellow-green and grey with an irregular yellow margin. Clusters of small white flowers appear in spring. This male cultivar does not produce berries, but makes a good pollinator for female holly plants
