An evergreen shrub, to around 1.2m high, with a compact, slightly spreading habit and elliptic mid-green leaves. Produces clusters of 14-17 broadly funnel-shaped, pale yellowish pink flowers, with speckles of greenish yellow on the upper petals, in late spring and early summer

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in moist but well-drained, humus rich, acidic soil, in partial or dappled shade. Choose a site away from frost pockets and sheltered from strong winds. Mulch annually, ideally with leaf mould. See rhododendron cultivation for more detailed advice

Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings in late summer, or by grafting in winter
