A fast growing evergreen shrub up to 1.8m high and 1.2 m wide, with oval, glossy dark green leaves to 3cm long. Produces terminal and lateral panicles to 5cm long, of bright indigo-blue flowers in mid to late spring

Cultivation
Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun with shelter from strong, cold winds. Lime tolerant but may become chlorotic on shallow chalk soils. See ceanothus cultivation
