A large, upright shrub to 3.5m with spreading branches and rounded foliage opening with yellow and reddish-brown tints and maturing to light mid-green, then turning yellow in autumn. The showy flowers, produced from mid-winter to early spring, have long, crinkled, yellow petals flushed with red, but are not fragrant
